Livingstone Daisy / Dorotheanthus bellidiformis 'Pastel Mix'

Also known as mesembryanthemum or as iceplants, this tender perennial is usually grown as an annual. Alternatively, these plants can be brought in over the winter until the risk of frost has passed in the next spring.

These are great container plants that are drought tolerant and grow to 10cm tall and 15cm across in full sun and a very well-drained pot, preferably with added grit to aid drainage. They can also be grown in a rockery of other freely draining sites. Bright shiny flowers are produced from June to September and the glistening leaves stay all year round if protected from frost.

The leaves and stems are edible and have a salty taste.
