A native British wildflower of damp grasslands. Its flowers are popular with beneficial insects, butterflies, bees and other pollinators while the seed are good for birds. Grows to 90cm tall and 30cm across in full sun or partial shade and boggy soils. Produces an attractive mound of leaves from spring to autumn and white plumes of flowers in July and August.
The flowers will give a gorgeous sweet vanilla and almond flavour to food and drinks, and this wildflower is also part of our edible plants collection.
