A native British wildflower of rough grassland and banks. Popular with beneficial insects, bees, butterflies and moths, and other pollinators. It is also an occasional foodplant for caterpillars of the Brown Argus butterfly. It grows to 80cm tall and 50cm across in moist but well-drained soils and full shade to full sun. Produces clear blue flowers all summer and into autumn.
Mature plants can be divided in spring.
This plant flowers in its third year and the plant we sell are already two years old.
