A native British wildflower of woodlands and verges that is popular with bees, butterflies and hoverflies. It is also a foodplant for quite a few moth species including the plain clay and yellow underwing moths. It grows to 30cm tall and 30cm across in partial shade and moist but well drained soils. White flowers are prduced from April to June.
This can be a bit of a scruffy plant but the flowers are always elegant and brilliant for lighting up a shady spot.
